Recap of the 2015 Green Speed Cup in Strausberg.
The television program about the Green Speed Cup from 2013 is nominated for this years media price in the catagory aerospace.
The weather situation today is a little bit more complicated. We have a strong wind from south-west and many rain showers will develop during the day. That’s why the task is quite short today. The competitors have to manage a 215km long track to the south and hopefully they can come back in front of the rain-front that’s coming from the south .
After the very exciting and well performed training day yesterday we started the first official competition day today. The weather conditions are much better than expected and it looks again like a very good gliding day ...
A few participants arrived already today and had the chance to enjoy the training day with very good gliding conditions. As expected the aircrafts with the best gliding performance, the Ventus cM and the S6-RT made it best...
The Green Speed Cup is going into its fourth year. After establishing a new world record for electric aircrafts (e-genius) last year, we hope to continue the growing success of the idea to fly further, while consuming less.
The e-Genius electric aircraft flew into the record books on the first of the Green Speed Cup’s two assessment days by masterfully negotiating the set task of flying a triangular route of some 405 km (252 miles). Never before has a completely electric aircraft flown further. This represents a milestone in the electromobility field.
Under close surveillance of the European TV-Station „ARTE“ the teams completed a 152NM (175 statute miles) task to the north.
Day three at the GSC2013 and the second day in competition. Today we will be followed by a German TV team from the channel ARTE.
