GSC 2018 | DAY 3
The last day of the Green Speed Cup 2018. Due to the weather the contestants won't be flying today. Only the award ceremony took place and the participants had the opportunity to prepare for their journey home. Due to heavy thunderstorms in the mountainous areas, it is therefore important for some of the participants to leave early. This year's winner in the combustion class is Werner "Micro" Scholz, who has already won third place with a Piccolo in 2015. It was a head to head race with only 18 points difference to the second place. After a double victory in the last two years, the D-39 had to admit defeat by the Carat. The Stemme S12 by Julien Baumann has landed in 3rd place. But even there it was only 7 points distance to Stemme S10, flown by Klaus "Theo" Körner. Impressive is the right word for the result of the C-Falken D-KDDK, who, with their own modifications (winglets, gas cap fairings, etc.) and the right strategy could fly over both competition days at a 5th place, ahead of Super Dimona and Grob G109.
This brings the 7th Green Speed Cup to a close with many exciting results. We can look back on an exciting competition, but also on great and interesting lectures and the best weather.
Next year there will be another Green Speed Cup. From 7-9 June 2019, the quotient of speed and energy consumption will again be determined in Strausberg. We are happy about everyone who wants to participate and invite everyone to register at firstname.lastname@example.org. Next year hopefully with an electroclass and live tracking of all aircraft on the Internet. All information about this can be found, as usual, on Facebook or www.greenspeedcup.de.
The results of the Green Speed Cup 2018 can be found here.
See you next year
